The New 7 Wonders of Nature

New7Wonders Foundation's new campaign, the New 7 Wonders of Nature, is a highly-organized global election to determine the new 7 wonder of nature.

Up to date there are almost 300 nominees and counting. Nominations started last year by NewOpenWorld Foundation supported by the United Nations Partnership. This is the follow up campaign after the successful new 7 wonders.

The voting and nominations continue until December 31, 2008, after the top 77 nominees will go through a panel of experts that will put together a shortlist of 21 finalists by January 2009.

Voting for the 21 candidates will then begin January 2009
and will last until the end of 2009 The top seven nominees being officially declared the “New Seven Wonders of Nature” by the year 2010.

This search is organized by the Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) and the non-profit New Seven Wonders Foundation.

As of now, the Philippines has 4 (hoping that Mayon is placed back on the list) nominees. As of now you may only vote for 3 of them, namely: Tubbataha Reef , Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park both in Palawan, and The Chocolate Hills in Bohol.
