Province of Bohol
I am Antonieto I. Pernia, Boholano and is deeply involved in the campaign for
Boholanos around the world to support our drive to make the Chocolate Hills
among one of the world’s wonders.
I also happen to be the media head of the provincial government of Bohol under
the leadership of Gov. Erico B. Aumentado.
1. The sheer number of votes in support of Chocolate Hills is
a loud evidence of the united stand of Boholanos,
2. Boholano Associations all over the world stand firm and
committed to rally enough support that catapulted Bohol
to its place among the 7 New Wonders of the World. A
cursory review of the votes for Chocolate hills will show
diverse sources indicating the nationalistic spirit of
Boholanos considering that they are almost everywhere
in the world,
3. The rise in the position of Chocolate Hills from a much
lower ranking is a strong indication of the solidarity of
Boholanos in this campaign.
4. The position presently occupied by Chocolate Hills came
about even in the absence of media campaign especially
in national television. The sheer love for Bohol and the
individual campaign done by Boholanos bolstered by
volunteer groups led by Bob Galang carried Chocolate Hills
to where it is now.
Bohol is the only province in the entire Philippines, maybe even the world, that
has a gathering of all Boholanos around the world every three years. Thousands
of Boholanos find their way to Bohol to show oneness in this celebration.
The campaign to support Chocolate Hills is no different from our celebration of
oneness. We will showcase our solidarity by making Chocolate Hills among the
world’s wonders.
